I am so excited to be teaching the MMO program! I have five children, the oldest just started college at UGA and the youngest (a graduate of Lanier) just started kindergarten at Mashburn. I received my bachelor's degree from Radford University in VA in interior design, but after several years and one baby, I realized that retail work was not compatible with our family life. I was lead teacher for a 2 year old class in Winston-Salem, NC for 6 years before moving to Brussels, Belgium. Four years later we moved to Pennsylvania, and two years ago we transferred to Cumming. I have been lucky to have been able to spend the past several years as a full time Mom, but it was time to get back to work and it feels great! I look forward to getting to know the children and watching them learn and grow this year.

Welcome to Class 3A we are so blessed to be teaching your children this school year. My name is Ms Vicki. I was born in California but lived most of my life in Louisiana before relocating to Georgia. I have a loving husband William & three children James (24), Kendra (15) and Autumn (14). James served two tours in Iraq and is now taking classes at North Ga. College. Kendra is a sophomore at Forsyth Central High & Autumn is a freshman. I began working with preschoolers almost 20 years ago when I opened up a preschool in my home. I am currently enrolled at Lanier Tech to further my teaching career. I'm a Wednesday night bible teacher and dabble in scouts. As you can see I love children! In the very little spare time that I have left I love to camp, read, collect angels, candles, take long baths & drink Starbucks! God has blessed me so much this year by returning my son safely and sparing the lives but not the homes of my family in Katrina. I know he will continue to bless me this year as I strive to prepare your children for Pre-K and to expose them to their best friend Jesus! May GOD also bless you and yours this year.

I have been blessed in that, I can't think of a time in my life where I wasn't working with children. I have taught Sunday school, worked as a Girl Scout leader for 7 years and been involved with preschool children for a total of fifteen years. I began as an assistant when my own daughter was three. Prior to working here at Lanier I worked in a public school preschool program for 8 years. This is my fifth year at Lanier and I must say, I love it here. This fall I will be celebrating twenty four wonderful years of marriage with a man who was my high school sweetheart and is someone I greatly admire. We were blessed with one daughter that has just started her third year at Auburn University-War Eagle! I love animals, both great and small. I have three animals of my own, all adopted. One dog, Princess ( who thinks she's the queen, but she's only the princess!) and two cats Baby and Precious. I also love to run, enjoy my flowers and water garden and to take my Princess for a walk with my husband. Children are like flowers, if you tend to them with your time, water them with your love and occasionally pull out the weeds, they will bless you with beautiful blossoms.

Miss Mary Beth

In 1983 I accepted Jesus as my Savior. My life drastically changed. I knew that God had a plan for me and my life. I graduated college in 1985 and began a life serving God by helping children. I started my career helping youth at risk in Outdoor Wilderness programs. In 1989, I met the love of my life and we were married in 1990. From 1990-1998 we focused on life, career, and making a life for our soon to be daughter. She was born in 1998 on a cold Massachusetts winter. We soon found out that she had a heart defect that required open heart surgery. We totally had to give God control. She is now almost 9 years old and a beautiful healthy girl. In 2001 our son was born. He is now 6 and is starting kindergarten. I started as a preschool teacher at Lanier in the fall of 2004. I know God placed me at Lanier and my constant prayer is that He gives me the ability to touch each child with the love of Jesus.

I’m pleased to be Miss Mary Beth’s assistant in 4B for the third year. I earned a BS in Education and a degree in Physical Therapy many years ago. I practiced PT for about 12 years in Pennsylvania and Virginia. When Steve, my husband of 44 years, and I moved to Georgia, I began working as an assistant in a church preschool and eventually began their 2 year old program. I then moved on to elementary school, assisting in Special Needs Kindergarten, Developmental First and Multi-age classroom. I retired again and worked as a manager in a gift and collectible store for 6-7 years and again retired. After a year or so at home, I was fortunate to be hired by Lanier Preschool. Our three grown children and four grandchildren often chuckle at my activities! |
Miss Julie

It is my honor to be teaching 4-C at Lanier Preschool! I love working with children and have always felt "called" to teach. I graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors degree and began working on a Masters in Early Education. I, however, was offered a career position with the State of Florida which entailed writing curriculum and teaching employees state wide. I left Florida State and went to work. During my years in college, I spent the summers as a camp counselor and the school year as an after school counselor. I have been married for 10 years and have two daughters, ages 8 and 5. I am so blessed to be here at Lanier Preschool!

Music / Movement |
I am a true native of Atlanta, Georgia and have been here over 40 years! (I'm just not counting anymore.) I hold a degree from Georgia State University however I claim two years at Clemson University to be more of a memory. Over the years, I have enjoyed Music in many ways and love teaching piano to all ages. Coming from Cornerstone Schools where the pace was K-8th I am excited to be teaching the bright and talented 2 to 4 year olds and the fun they have in exploring all types of music and movement. Most important is the fact that we can celebrate being Christians and sing our hearts out about Jesus and all He stands for our children!
